Have you entered your vacation into Workday?

The Fiscal Year ends on June 30, 2016.  Please check in Workday to ensure all vacation hours taken between September 1, 2015 and June 30, 2016 have been entered prior to June 30 so there is an accurate accounting of vacation hours going into the new fiscal year.

You received 2 floating holidays last July 1.  These must be taken by June 30, 2016.  You will receive 2 floating holidays this upcoming July 1 to be used by June 30, 2017.

The leave year ends on August 31st. Below is information about how to view your leave time balances and what may be carried into the new leave year.

To help employees maintain a healthy balance between work life and personal life, Champlain College provides a meaningful benefit of vacation time.  All employees are encouraged to schedule time off to relax and recharge.  The new Leave Year begins on September 1st.

All eligible employees must submit their requests to use vacation time in Workday.  This request is then forwarded to your supervisor for approval.  In most cases, this task is completed in advance of the Time Off event.

It is important to note that if your supervisor has not yet approved the time off request, Workday will not reflect the unapproved time as scheduled to be used.

To help with vacation time planning, you may project out your accruals by selecting a future date.

To plan out what you must use before the end of this Leave Year, August 31:

For employees paid Monthly: Select August 31, 2016 as the as of date to see if you have scheduled enough vacation time to bring your bank under the one-week threshold.   Your work week is based on your scheduled weekly hours, so if you work 25 hours per week, as of 8/31 you should have no more than 25 hours in your bank; if you work full time, you should have no more than 37.5 hours in your bank; if you work in Physical Plant or Public Safety, you should have no more than 40 hours remaining.

For employees paid Biweekly:  Select August 20, 2016 for the as of date since that is the final full pay period of the leave year.   If you have time off scheduled after August 20th, you will need to take that into consideration for your calculations.
