Fall 10,000 Steps Challenge

Join us for the 2016 Fall 10,000 Steps Challenge!  From Monday, September 5th to Sunday, October 2nd, track your steps, move more, and join your colleagues in a virtual voyage from Champlain Burlington to Champlain Dublin!  

Four week challenge, lots of great prizes – and better health at the end of it – what could be better?  We’ll also offer suggestions on local activities where you can get more steps, whether hikes, races, local festivals, etc.

We’ll be using Stridekick, a website built for group challenges that allows folks with a variety of activity trackers to compete.  Click here to join the challenge.

Weekly tip:  To help you on your way, consider running or walking in the Charlotte Covered Bridge 5K/10K/Half-Marathon on September 10th.  You can register at www.raceVermont.com.  And if races aren’t your thing, how about a visit to Shelburne Farms or the Shelburne Museum?  Their grounds are gorgeous, the weather is wonderful these days – and it’s a chance to get a lot of steps while having a lot of fun!

And thinking ahead – plan to walk or run the Sarah Ramsey Strong 5k on Saturday, October 1st as a “graduation” from the challenge.  It’ll get you plenty of steps on the final weekend of the challenge, and all proceeds from the race benefit the Sarah Ramsey Strong Scholarship here at Champlain!  You can register here:  https://sarahramseystrong.com/events/ (and you can use your Champlain Wellbeing dollars to be reimbursed for the race fee)!
