mumbauer-katie8.1.2016 – Katherine “Katie” Mumbauer joins the Financial Aid team at Champlain as an Assistant Director. Katie will be working with our online students in the CPS and Graduate divisions.  Katie comes to us from the New England Culinary Institute (NECI) where she served as a Financial Aid Advisor.  Katie holds an MBA from Norwich University.

Meghan.Daly.CCcard8.3.2016 – Meghan Daly joins the Continuing Professional Studies Division as Manager, Enrollment Operations.  Meghan will oversee enrollment operations and in that role she will help improve the overall applicant experience and operational efficiency from inquiry through enrolled student in collaboration with IS, Trad Admissions, Student Accounts, and other relevant internal and external stakeholders. Working closely with our Sr. Enrollment Coordinator, Jess Baker, the marketing team, and the academic side of the house, she’ll lead our efforts to improve data quality – and data availability – to provide greater line of sight into the admission funnel. In the months ahead, Meghan will serve as the primary point person within the unit for CRM-related matters.

Meghan has help positions of increasing responsibility at Burlington College – both in admissions and academic administration. For the last year and a half, Meghan served as Registrar. Other higher education experience includes serving as an admission representative at her alma mater, Castleton University. Meghan holds a BA in Fine Arts from Castleton University.  During her tenure at Burlington College, Meghan demonstrated agility, flexibility and persistence. She’s very excited about her new role and being a part of Champlain College.

Bruce Bovat8.8.2016 – Bruce Bovat joined Champlain College as the Director of Campus Public Safety (CPS).  Bruce brings extensive experience to Champlain, most recently as the Deputy Chief of Police at the Burlington Police Department. In his new role, Bruce will provide vision, leadership, and management for a comprehensive, integrated public safety program dedicated to the safety and security of our campus community. He will lead a team of established professionals to support and promote public safety in ways that enhance both the student experience and Champlain’s culture. Bruce’s long-time involvement in the Burlington community will also allow him to continue to build positive and productive working relationships with regional law-enforcement agencies and other community members on behalf of the College.

Bruce served as an aviation officer for more than 20 years in the Vermont Army National Guard before retiring at the rank of Major. He graduated from the University of Vermont in 1991 with a degree in secondary education. He has also served as an instructor for the International Associations of Chiefs of Police and at the Vermont Police Academy.

8.22.2016 – Tara Chasnoff joins the Student Health and Wellness Team as a Nurse Practitioner. Tara will be providing direct clinical care to students through the Student Health Center to help meet their physical and mental health needs, as well as participating in our growing campus health programming initiatives.

Tara is coming to Champlain from the Community Health Centers of Burlington, where she has been a primary care provider for the past six years, providing primary care services to a variety of populations with complex health needs. Prior to this Tara worked in the University of Vermont Student Health Center, as well as the New York University Student Health Center.  Tara holds a Bachelors of Art in Psychology from Binghamton University, a Bachelors of Science in Nursing from University of Massachusetts, and a Masters of Science in Nursing from New York University.

8.25.2016 – Kathleen “Kathy” Williams joins the Division of Continuing Professional Studies as an Academic Advisor. Kathy is the advisor to our undergraduate, online accounting students. She will work with these students from the time they accept their offer of admission until they complete their program.

After working for a government contractor as a multimedia developer, Kathy changed careers and began teaching computer and communication courses at Shippensburg University, PA. She has also worked at UVM in a support position for students in the Educational Leadership and Policy Studies program. Additionally, she is currently teaching an on campus Communications course. Kathy earned her Master’s degree in Instructional Technology from Bloomsburg University.She earned her Bachelor of Science in Communication Media from Indiana University of Pennsylvania.

LeBlanco, Howie8.29.2016 – Hau “Howie” LeBlanco joins the Undergraduate Admission team as an Assistant Director of Admissions. Howie will be part of the Undergraduate recruitment team, responsible for the recruitment via on and off campus information sessions and interviews around the country, application review of first year students, and yield efforts toward enrolling the incoming 2017 class to Champlain College.

Howie brings a variety of experiences from his time at Champlain College both as a student (Class of 2010, Bachelor’s of Science in Graphic Design) and administrator, having recently served in the capacities of Senior Coordinator in the Events Center and Special Projects Coordinator in the Office of Diversity and Inclusion. A Burlington native, he has served in similar capacities with various Vermont organizations, including Navicate, Outright Vermont and the Boys and Girls Club of Burlington. We will look to Howie’s direct and indirect experience in all of these areas as we craft the Class of 2021.

8.30.2016 – marianne-2016Marianne Werner joins the Champlain as an Associate Director in Financial Aid. Marianne will be managing the financial aid process for our online students in the CPS and Graduate divisions.  Marianne comes to us from the UVM Student Financial Services Office and previously served as Director of Financial Aid at New England Culinary Institute (NECI). Marianne also served as a lead financial aid counselor at VSAC in the Financial Aid Services division for 13 years.  She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from St. Michael’s College.
