9.1.2016 – James “Jim” Kelley joins the Advancement team at Champlain as a Major Gift Officer. Jim served as a consultant to Institutional Advancement during the spring semester and was successful at raising significant funds for our student scholarship programs. Having served for a number of years as a major gift officer for the University of Vermont, Jim brings a great deal of experience to his position. At Champlain, Jim will focus on stewarding many of our local donors and regional parents and will work to develop Vermont-based corporate partnerships and support.

9.1.2016 – Miguel Vazguez Gomez joins the Advancement team at Champlain as a Major Gift Officer. Miguel joins us from Charter High School of Architecture & Design (CHAD), where he served as Director of College Counseling – facilitating the enrollment of more than 50 undergraduate students to Champlain. Miguel has been a colleague to many of us at the College for years. He has a deep understanding of the Champlain educational model and how Champlain plays a role in transforming lives. Miguel will focus on stewarding donors on a national level, seeking opportunities to further support and expand our scholarship programs.

9.2.2016 – Anna Leavey joins the Student Health and Wellness Center as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner. Anna comes to us from the Community Health Centers of Burlington (where she will continue to practice in addition to her new position). Prior to her career in mental health, Anna was a high school teacher, and she brings to Champlain a honed interest and depth of experience with the adolescent and college age populations. Anna holds a Masters of Science in Nursing from University of Vermont, and a Bachelors of Arts in Education from University of Guelph in Ontario.

9.12.2016 – Nadia Lucchin joins the Continuing Professional Studies Division at Champlain as an Academic Advisor. Nadia will work with our online students from the time they accept their offer of admission until they complete their program. Prior to working at Champlain Nadia has worked at both Columbus State Community College and Ohio State University as an Italian Lecturer and Instructor. She hold an B.S. in Human Ecology and a B.A. in Italian Language and Literature and a M.A. in Italian Studies from Ohio State University.

10.01.2016 – Rebecca “Becky” Colley joins the Continuing Professional Studies Marketing team as the Sr. Strategic Design and UX Manager. In this position, she will drive innovation through design that impacts the entire student life cycle. With a significant emphasis on the recruitment and admission process, she will continually explore, evaluate, and test new ways to facilitate better design, problem solving, communication and overall user experience to help achieve marketing, admission, and retention goals. Becky comes to us with a great background in, and passion for, design and user experience, as well as creating meaningful stories that connect users with brands. Becky earned a BS in Multimedia Graphic Design from Champlain College, then her MFA in Design at the School of Visual Arts in NYC, but finished it here at Champlain. Previous to joining our team, she had built her own successful consulting business where she served clients here in Vermont, and in New York City. Some of her previous clients include Humana, UVM Medical Center, Chanel, and Yale University.

10.11.2016 – Joel Lenoir joins the Information Systems team as a Systems Manager where he will be the primary administrator for our Colleague system, and a back-up administrator for our Informer system. Joel was previously at Burlington College, where he ran all aspects of IT: hardware, software, networking, and support.We are very pleased to have full support for the institution’s Colleague needs! Joel will be an invaluable resource.

10.17.2016 – Justin Cawley joins the Finance team as a Senior Accountant. Justin has spent the last four years in public accounting, and comes to us from A.M. Peisch and Company, LLP located in Colchester, VT. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with a concentration in accounting and management. Justin has been a certified public accountant since May 2015.
