Position Announcements: After seventeen years of extraordinary service to our company and its members, Executive Vice President and General Manager of the Essex site, Courtney Kutler, has made the decision to step away from her position to spend more time with her family. Courtney will continue on in various roles including pursuing a new triathlon training program for the EDGE. Courtney will be assisting us throughout the transition process.
We are very pleased to announce that MJ Sleeper has been promoted to the role of General Manager at the EDGE of Essex. MJ has done an extraordinary job as the Director of the South Burlington Kids & Fitness and we look forward to her applying her skills and knowledge to the entire Essex club.
Additionally, we are pleased to announce that Heather Hamiltonhas been promoted to the role of Director of the South Burlington Kids & Fitness. Heather’s unmatched experience and passion for Kids & Fitness makes her extremely well prepared to excel in her new role.
Adult Endurance Athlete Training (Williston): Are you a cyclist, rower, runner, swimmer, or triathlete looking to fill training time in the cooler months? Maybe you need to add structure to your weight room training? The Parisi Speed School is excited to announce the start of our Adult Endurance Athlete program! The 8 week program will run on Tuesday evenings (6:00pm) and Friday mornings (6:30am) with options to do one or both time slots! Free demo sessions will run on Tuesday, August 29th at 6pm and Friday, September 1st at 6:30am! For more information, contact Kyle Rainville at or call 488-3278!

Genavix is coming to South Burlington!: We are excited to announce that we are expanding to W. Twin Oaks! Our first 90 Day Commit to Get Fit program begins Wednesday, September 13th. Stop by our Open House on Wednesday evening, September 6th from 5:30-7:30pm at W. Twin Oaks to meet some of our Genavix coaches and learn more about the program!

Indoor Cycling Studio (Essex): Our indoor cycling studio in Essex will be undergoing some renovations! Please check our website ( or our EDGE Group Fitness Facebook Page for the latest updates on class cancellations and renovation progress.
Spin for Celiac (Essex): Join Vermont’s first Spin-a-thon to raise money for Celiac Disease research at The Edge in Essex on Sunday, September 17th! If you are interested in spinning in one of five one-hour sessions, follow these instructions:
1) “Create a team” on the Spin For Celiac CrowdRise page and recruit your friends and family to donate towards your $250 fundraising goal!
2) Register for a spin session by filling out Google Form
3) Mail a check for $25 to reserve your bike to:

MyZone (W. Twin Oaks & Essex): MyZone Heart Rate Belts are now being sold at our W. Twin Oaks and Essex locations for a special EDGE price of $99 ($50 off the retail price)! MyZone is a next-generation heart rate monitor used to provide members with instant, accurate EFFORT feedback. Through the heart rate monitor and MyZone app, members will be able to train at their own pace, participate in group challenges, compete against themselves, view workout history, track progress over time, and so much more. Recycling Reminders (all locations): A friendly reminder that used paper towels are not recyclable and should be thrown away. Please refer to the signs posted on trashcans and recycling containers for what items are appropriate to recycle and what items are not. Thank you!

Children’s Programs
Fall Discounts for Junior Tennis (Essex & South Burlington): Register online or at the front desk to SAVE on Junior Tennis programming. Classes will not be discounted after the pre-registration dates.

High School PEAK90 (Williston): After a great summer of our new PEAK90 program, Parisi will be keeping this training program on our schedule for the academic school year! Sessions run Monday-Thursday evening from 6:00-7:30pm with the flexibility to sign up for sessions day to day to provide the flexibility needed around busy school schedules. This is also a great in-season training option for those playing fall sports but are looking to maintain and build on their summer success! Learn to Lift (Williston): For young athletes ages 8-11 who are looking to enhance their experience in the weight room! This age-appropriate strength training session will be coached by certified Parisi Performance Coaches to ensure safety and education for each athlete in the program. Each session of Learn to Lift runs for 4 weeks in conjunction with the school year calendar. The first session of Learn to Lift starts the week of Monday, September 11thwith training options on Monday/Thursday or Wednesday/Friday. All sessions are 3:30-4:30pm. There is a bus that runs from Williston Central School to the Williston EDGE! Cost is $89 per athlete.
Aquatics (Essex, Williston, South Burlington): Our youth swimming programming is out! The first session begins September 5th and registration is open NOW! For detailed information on Splash, PreSchool, Learn-to-Swim, and Swim & Stay Fit, check out our website.
The EDGE Kids & Fitness (Essex, Williston, South Burlington): We have expanded! Now enrolling – a limited number of spots are available for the 2017-2018 school year. Kids & Fitness offers fully accredited childcare, including an infant program, toddler program, preschool, and Kindergarten Readiness! Activities include swimming lessons, tennis, soccer, yoga, climbing wall, music, creative movement, and nutritional and cooking classes, all offered by certified instructors. After School Program (Essex): Hurry – the After School Program still has openings at our Essex location for Kindergarten – 5th Grade (ages 5-12). The goal of the After School Program is to provide your child with the opportunity to engage in a positive, active and fun environment while also learning and developing social skills, social and personal responsibility, problem solving, and conflict resolution skills. Special activities include swimming, rock climbing, tennis, dance and art. Playspace (All locations): BEEP BEEP! The school bus is arriving and it’s time to get back into the Gym! Bring your little ones into the Playspace for one visit per day up to 2 hours. For only $1.63 a day, Members can have 2 hours of childcare daily in our drop-in Playspace, when they sign up for EFT1 Non-members have access to our drop-in Playspace as well. EDGE Swim Team
Following a strong state championship meet, with four individual victories and four state records to go with them, and a member of two winning relays, Ella Miller (16, Shelburne), of the EDGE Swim Club headed south to East Meadow, New York for the 2017 SPEEDO Junior National championship meet from August 8th-12th. Ella was the only Vermont swimmer at the meet and the first swimmer from the EDGE to qualify for the high-level meet.
Ella was seeded 69th in the 200-meter backstroke before achieving a new lifetime best and placing 51st. In the 100-meter backstroke, Ella was seeded 39th, needing a top 24 finish to qualify for finals later in the evening. Ella again achieved a new lifetime best and placed 23rd. She held on to that standing at finals. We congratulate Ella on her amazing season, and her amazing approach and humble attitude.

Community Events
Sommer’s Chiropractice Kid’s Day Event:
The Genavix Wellness Department and the Parisi Speed School will be representing The EDGE at the Kid’s Day Event in South Burlington! Stop by 4 Market Street, South Burlington, from 11:00am-2:00pm on September 16thto run your fastest through our obstacle course for kids and to discuss normative ranges for biomarkers of health and disease prevention. Fastest times through the obstacle course will win a 1 Month Parisi Membership Certificate and a Comprehensive Health Risk Assessment will be raffled off to parents! Come see how much more than just weight affects our health and gain an education on what those risk factors mean, as well as learn about the importance of developing healthy fitness habits of your child!
