Tuesday, September 5
Morgan Room, Aiken Hall
Presented by Eric Ronis, this workshop will focus on using the strategies for creating and maintaining supportive communication climates as enumerated by Jack Gibb.
“Although Gibb wrote about these strategies in the 1960s, I personally finds them very useful today in my own classroom teaching. Gibb came from the world of psychology and found success in the world of business management/consulting. His “categories” are appropriate tools for all of us who want to be inclusive of all voices. This workshop, which will allow for hands-on practice around specific diversity/inclusion scenarios as well as discussion about the principles underlying Gibb’s strategies.”
