08.01.2017 – Dr. Albert Orbinati joins the Continuing Professional Studies team as an Assistant Professor and Program Director for the undergraduate Business Administration programs. Prior to Champlain, Albert was the Vice President of Online Learning and Continuing Education at Medaille College in Buffalo, NY. While there, he was instrumental in redeveloping the college’s online program portfolio and brand – increasing enrollment. Prior to Medaille College, Albert was Dean of the School of Professional and Continuing Education at The Sage Colleges in Albany, NY and the Director of Online and Non-Traditional Programs at Utica College in Utica, NY. In addition to this career in higher education, Dr. Orbinati is a 14-year member of the US military, and currently holds the rank of Major in the United States Air Force Reserve. He is also a lifelong musician and has performed on the stages of Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center. Albert holds a B.A. in Urban Planning from Binghamton University, a M.A. in Adult Education from Central Michigan University, and a PhD in Adult Education from Capella University.

08.07.2017 – Madison (Maddie) Braz joins the Women’s and Gender Center team as an AmeriCorps VISTA. In this role, Maddie will focus on projects that promote education access and success for women from economically disadvantaged backgrounds both on and off campus. She is a recent graduate from Saint Michael’s College where she studied Gender Studies and held an internship at STEPS to End Domestic Violence. She was also a student employee at SMC’s Center for Women and Gender. Maddie graduated with honors in her program and is a member of Phi Beta Kappa. She was also honored with the Dr. Marie Henault Award, which is presented to a graduating senior who has contributed in some way to women’s issues on and off campus.

08.14.2017 – Tyler Jennings-Peczka joins the Undergraduate Admissions team as an Admissions Counselor. As part of this team, she will be responsible for recruitment of undergraduate students via on and off campus information sessions and interviews, application review of first-year students, and yield efforts toward enrolling the incoming classes to Champlain College. Tyler brings a variety of experiences from her time at Champlain College as a student (Class of 2017, Bachelor’s of Science degree in Broadcast and Streaming Media) having recently served as an intern in the Undergraduate Admissions office. As a Hartford, CT native, she has served in similar capacities with various Vermont organizations including Vermont Hope Works for Women and ReSource, as well as a Social Media Coordinator for Champlain’s LEAD program. We will look to Tyler’s experience in all of these areas as we craft the Class of 2022.

8.21.2017 – Stephanie Houle joins the Auxiliary Services team as a Sr. Coordinator. In this role, she will assist with many area of auxiliary services including campus signage, vending, financial processes, Event Center and Mail Room assistance, and other projects. Stephanie has a background working as an Autism Interventionist, store manager, and as an employee of AirBnB. She brings skills from organizational development to detailed organization, communication and problem solving. Stephanie has a B.S. in Psychology from the University of Vermont, and is working on a master’s degree in Education and Human Development in Organizational Leadership and Learning from George Washington University.

08.25.2017 – Jennifer Clarke joins the Residential Life and Student Engagement teams as an Area Coordinator of Operations. In this position, she will be coordinating RA council and housing operations for Residential Life. Jennifer graduated from Champlain College in 2016 with a degree in Psychology and worked as an RA for two and a half years. She is returning to our community after a year in New York. According to her supervisor, Jennifer has been a superstar and transitioned into her new role with style and grace.
