New Employees in November and December

11.06.2017 – Kylie deGroot joins the Institutional Advancement team as Major Gift Officer. In this position, she will be building relationships with external partners and donors to increase philanthropic support to the College. Kylie has a B.S. in Nutrition and Food Sciences from the University of Vermont. The rest of the Institutional Advancement team is excited to have her join the team!

11.13.2017 – Hannah Rounds joins the Marketing team as Assistant Content Producer, a role that has her writing content and supporting the Web Services team. Though she graduated from UVM with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English, Hannah credits her recent coursework at Champlain College with preparing her for a transition into her desired career field. After years of working in the fancy-underpants industry (as an actual underwear inspector at times!) and a short stint writing copy for Dealer.com, Hannah is happy to have a position that offers meaningful work, fantastic colleagues, and a job title that doesn’t raise eyebrows. Hannah will be working extensively on Champlain’s website, as well as microsites and other subdomains. She will also head up content creation along with the Creative Services team for email marketing efforts for traditional undergraduate recruitment. Additionally, Hannah will maintain our database of faculty bios on the website, as well as support producing advertising and editorial content for the digital signage across campus. Other areas of responsibility include ADA compliance assurance for web pages, producing content specifically to build SEO strength, building promotion components and special galleries.

11.21.2017 – Andrea Gemme joins the Student Life team in the Office of Diversity and Inclusion as  Student

Success and Program Coordinator. In this position, she will be assisting the Associate Director in supporting historically underrepresented students by facilitating and supporting student-centered services. She will do this by helping to plan, coordinate and implement academic and social support initiatives for students and working with campus partners to develop and implement programming for all students surrounding education and celebration of diversity and social justice initiatives. Andrea has a B.A. from St. Michael’s College and just finished a year-long AmeriCorps appointment.

12.4.2017 – Bradley Martin joins the Continuing Professional Studies team as Senior Transfer Credit/Test Out Coordinator. In this role, he will be responsible for the awarding of Transfer Credits for new and current CPS students, as well as coordinating the Test-Out process and assisting with application review. Bradley holds a Bachelor’s degree in Writing and Literature from Burlington College and will complete his MFA  in Writing and Publishing at Emerson College in July 2018.

12.18.2017 – Sekou Keita joins the Finance team as an Accountant. In this position, he will be responsible for monitoring and reconciling various financial accounts, assisting in year-end audit preparation, and posting journal entries. In addition to these responsibilities, he will serve as a backup for accounts payable. Sekou is a recent alumnus of Champlain (Class of 2016) and served as a Finance Intern while completing his studies. The Finance team is extremely excited to welcome him back into the Champlain College community.
