Intro Group Fitness Classes: Coming in February – Intro classes for BODYPUMP & BODYVIVE! These classes will be slower paced with more instruction between tracks and a strong focus on technique. Perfect for beginners and current Genavix participants and graduates. Keep a look out for more information coming soon!
Group Fitness Reminders (All Locations):
– New Les Mills releases out this week for BodyCombat and SPRINT. Try a class!
– All classes in Williston will be cancelled on Saturday & Sunday, January 27th and 28th. We are hosting a BodyJam training in the Williston studio that weekend.
– We appreciate all participants using the locker rooms for their bags, boots and coats. It helps to keep our floors clean and safe.
– Don’t forget we have Tai Chi & Qigong twice a week: Wednesday mornings at Eastwood Drive at 10:00am and Thursday afternoons in Williston from 3:30-4:30pm. Find some inner peace in 2018!
NEW! Cardio Tennis (W. Twin Oaks): Cardio Tennis is a high energy class that combines tennis with cardiovascular exercise. This is the ultimate full body workout that burns calories in a fun group environment and is open to all ages and abilities. Class is 12:00pm on Thursdays – $7 for members, $10 for non-members.
Tennis Round Robins (W. Twin Oaks): Are you looking to expand your tennis circles, while getting some competitive play in an informal, fun format? Come check out our new Friday Night Round Robin program at the W. Twin Oaks EDGE. The program runs every Friday from 6:30-8:00pm. Cost is $20 for members and $25 for non-members. Jericho Café & Tavern Tennis Championships (Essex): In its 23rd year, the JCAT offers competitive play over two weekends in the divisions listed below. Food is catered by the Jericho Café & Tavern and all players receive t-shirts. Register to play or just come to watch some great tennis during this one of a kind tournament event.
January 26-28, 2018 – Men’s Singles & Women’s Doubles
February 16-18, 2018 – Women’s Singles, Men’s Doubles, and Mixed Doubles
Divisions: 3.0, 3.5, 4.0, & Open
Mixed Divisions: A (7.5-8.5) & B (6.0-7.0) combined ratings
Fees: Singles – $30, Doubles – $25 per player

New Tennis Professional – Chealsey Giatrelis (Essex): Chealsey is originally from Barnstable, Massachusetts. She started playing tennis at the age of 6 and competed nationally at USTA tournaments until age 18. As a member of the varsity tennis team at Barnstable High School, she was named the Boston Globe All-Scholastic as a rookie, was a four-time Old Colony League all-Star and posted an 18-0 regular season record her freshman, sophomore, and junior year. Chealsey continued her education at Merrimack College where she competed on the women’s tennis team at #1 doubles and #2 singles. She graduated with a degree in environmental science.
Chealsey has been coaching tennis for the past 10 years. She coached at Mid Cape Athletic Club in South Yarmouth for 6 years. After graduating college she was offered a coaching position for the Barnstable high school tennis team and most recently was appointed Director of Tennis at the Barnstable Yacht Club. This past fall, Chealsey moved to Vermont to pursue a career in Forestry. She is available for adult and junior private or group lessons most afternoons, evenings, and weekends.

Youth Programs
Big Change Roundup (Williston): For the 5th year, Williston Kids & Fitness is hosting the Kickoff for the Big Change Roundup with WOKO for the University of Vermont Children’s Hospital. All proceeds go to the UVM Children’s Hospital. The Carnival Event will be Sunday, January 21st from 11:00am-1:00pm in the Williston Field House. There will be raffles, silent auctions, 50/50, bounce house, children’s activities, food, and tons of fun for children of all ages! WOKO will be broadcasting live. Parisi Speed School (Williston): Did you know Parisi offers the following?
– FREE Athlete evaluations and Parent Orientations every Thursday night from 6:00-7:00pm
– LITTLE SPEEDSTERS for kids ages 5 and 6
– JUMP START for athletes ages 7-9
– Total Performance 0 for athletes ages 10-12
– Total Performance 1 for athletes ages 12-14
– Total Performance 2 for athletes ages 15-18
– PEAK90 – semi-private small group training for athletes 15+ looking to get a little more specific with their training.

Swimming Lessons (Essex, Eastwood, Williston): Parents should spend fun, loosely structured time in the water with their infants and toddlers to develop a healthy association with water. Preschool age children should begin to learn some basic skills in a fun, supportive environment and should not spend all of their swimming time in puddle jumpers or floaties. Elementary school age children can begin to swim in deeper water with confidence – propelling with arms and legs and with their face in the water. Sign up for Group Swim Lessons today! Session 2 enrollment is open, lessons begin in early March. Junior Match Play (Essex): Round Robin match play will be offered on Sunday, January 21st for ages 9-14. Players will play matches against other players at their level. This is a great way for players to get match ready or to experience match play for the first time. An Edge pro will be there to supervise match play and coach players as needed. The fee is $10 per player. Please register at the Edge in Essex front desk. 
Junior Pathway Tennis (W. Twin Oaks): Session 1 of 2018 is underway for our new Junior Pathway System utilizing red, orange, green, and yellow balls. There’s still time to join in on the fun! Classes are offered Mondaythrough Friday afternoons and evenings as well as Saturday mornings. Contact Kevin Lizzo at for more information.
The EDGE in South Burlington Junior Championship Series (W. Twin Oaks): The fifth event in The Edge South Burlington Championship Series will be Saturday, January 20th and Sunday, January 21st at the W. Twin Oaks EDGE. There will be boys and girls divisions for 10 and under, 12 and under, 14 and under, and 18 and under.
Saturday: 12:00pm-3:00pm – 10’s, 3:00pm-6:00pm – 12’s
Sunday: 10:00am-1:00pm – 14’s, 1:00pm-4:00pm – 18’s

The Raul Fonseca Cup (W. Twin Oaks): Join us February 10th and 11thfor the Raul Fonseca Cup at the W. Twin Oaks EDGE. Just like the tournaments leading up to the Cup, each age division will have one day of round robin play. Depending on the number of participants, divisions may come down to a short semifinal and final round if more than one flight is needed. Players do not need to have played in any of the other five events to play in the Raul Fonseca Cup. Please contact Damon Fitch at for more information.

Playspace (All locations): No excuses! Bring your child ages 6 weeks and up to the drop-in Playspace at the Edge of your choice for one visit per day, up to 2 hours.
